How To Make DIY Resin Barrettes

TREND ALERT!!!  DIY resin hair barrettes are alllll the rage right now and if you haven’t jumped on this trend yet… you have to!  Our friend, AV Perkins, designed these super stylish barrettes using Beacon 527.  This craft is great to match an outfit or for a handmade gift.  What we love about these, is that they’re fun on adults but also adorable on kiddos too.  Follow along below to learn how you can make some trendy barrettes to add to your hair accessory collection!

Supplies:

Beacon Adhesives 527
Tissue Paper
Disposable or silicone cup
Scissors
Popsicle stick
Silicone barrette molds
Clips
Resin
Hardener
Paint
Glitter

Instructions:

Step 1: Get your materials.

Step 2: Cut tissue paper into small pieces.

Step 3: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to make resin.

Step 4: Pro Tip – Make sure you use a disposable or silicone cup.

Step 5: Scrape the sides of the cup while you stir so the resin and hardener are completely combined.

Step 6: Stir until the mixture is completely dry.

Step 7: Put the tissue paper in the resin.

Step 8: Gently stir.

Step 9: Separate into different cups for each color.

Step 10: Add glitter and paint.

Step 11: Pour into silicone mold and let cure overnight.

Step 12: Remove resin from mold.

Step 13: Glue the resin to a hair clip using Beacon 527.

Step 14: Let the glue dry and then your barrettes are complete!
