Beacon’s Innovative Breakthrough
1957 | CRAFT
When New York City’s Garment District needed a water resistant adhesive, manufacturers knocked on Beacon’s door for one that would withstand the test of any laundromat. Beacon created Magna-Tac 809 paving the way for bright, bejeweled garb. Immortalized in fashion history by Life Magazine’s “Sweater Girls,” designers no longer had to worry about warps, wrinkles, or the washing machine. Today, Magna-Tac 809’s is used by top designers who order by the gallon!

1987
A leading manufacturer of electrochemical biosensors came to Beacon in pursuit of a pressure sensitive adhesive applied through screen-printing which would reduce waste in their production cycle. Beacon responded with Magna-Cryl 3500, a high strength UV curable pressure sensitive adhesive also used in electronics and medical devices.

1983
A new lighting company approached Beacon requiring a self-extinguishing adhesive coating for fluorescent lights and electrical ballasts that would also insulate heat. In response Beacon introduced Magna-Tac 2510 a UV curable, protective and insulation coating, that is still used today.

1964
A time of flower power and plasticized PVC! The decade’s delights like wallpaper, seat covers, and handbags called for details that couldn’t simply be sewn-on. That’s when Beacon’s Gem-Tac became the singular adhesive that could bond smooth surfaces powerfully, quickly, and without warping or wrinkling.

1987
Cars, like many modern conveniences, need adhesives to function. However, at this time the auto industry was losing time and money every year due to a slow-curing adhesive used in oil-filter end caps. Beacon responded to this issue with a heat and oil resistant solution. This made it possible for a new class of rapidly curing glass filters to be created, saving the auto industry time in their production cycle.

1982 | INDUSTRIAL
In the early eighties, outdoor parties and picnics often faced the challenge of rapidly melting ice in styrofoam buckets. Despite attempts with various coatings—ranging from epoxies to solvent and water-based paints, nothing worked. This issue persisted until Beacon introduced Magna-Tac 2512. This innovative adhesive not only solved the melting problem but also revolutionized styrofoam products for years to come.

2002
Leading medical
device creators in Asia
needed an adhesive strong enough
to bond metal and plastic, while also acting as a heat barrier for low-heat curing epoxy. After extensive research and development, Beacon introduced Magna-Tac 625, revolutionizing 21st-century medical device assembly.

2003
The US Government was in search of an environmentally friendly fast-curing sealant. They called a meeting inviting Beacon and other leading adhesive and sealant manufacturers to help share their expertise and provide a solution for this issue. The parameters were presented and Beacon’s lead chemist was the only person in the room with a solution. Awarding Beacon patent NO. US7032492 with a sealant that was non-flammable, fast curing, and durable in any environment.

INDUSTRIAL
Magna-Tac E645 has been popular with the automotive, generator, transformer and lighting industries. We decided to re-investigate the science behind the original formula. We found that we could improve the environmental impact of Magna-Tac E645 by creating a water-based version and an epoxy powder that meet VOC standards and are even stronger and more resistant. Today, our newest iterations of E645 are being tested for use by companies worldwide.

CRAFT
In 2014, Power-Tac was created to meet the evolving needs of crafters and DIY enthusiasts. Developed with a focus on versatility and strength, Power-Tac was designed for use on a variety of surfaces, making it ideal for both intricate projects and larger-scale applications. Power-Tac’s innovative low-odor, non-carcinogenic formula allows users to create their dream projects and continues to be a top-seller.
