Description

Magna-Grip Cement, formerly known as Chemgrip® Cement, allows bonding of TFE (Teflon®) and other fluoropolymers.

Magna-Grip Cement, which is the exact same formula as Chemgrip® Cement, is a special two part epoxy adhesive that will bond treated TFE and other fluoropolymers to all common materials, such as wood, metals, glass, ceramics, and more, with a strength approaching that of the fluorocarbons themselves. Magna-Grip cement part A is red and part B is amber. It is sold in pint, quart and gallon kits.

To work on TFE, the material must first be etched with a treating agent. Replacing Chemgrip® Treating Agent is a product called FluoroEtch® Safety Solvent. This solution reacts with fluoropolymers, extracting fluorine atoms at the surface and forming a carbonaceous layer which is compatible with most adhesives.
